Former Cavalier tight end Tom Santi could join the Colts' active roster by the end of the week, according to published reports. Santi has been on the physically unable to perform list with an infected bursa sac in his knee since mid-July, the same injury that has hampered quarterback Peyton Manning.
Santi was drafted by the Colts in April, and impressed head coach Tony Dungy and his coaching staff during rookie mini-camp. Now he looks to earn a spot on the Indianapolis roster. Dungy says that his only concern with Santi returning is his conditioning, and that he is ready to go physically and clinically.
Santi has not played in a preseason game since being drafted by the Colts.
