The Redskins DE could miss the season opener with a sprained right knee.

Jason Taylor is one of the NFL's few defensive linemen who also qualify for the linebacker slot -- hence the No. 55 jersey.

Washington Redskins DE Jason Taylor will likely be out 10-14 days with a sprained right knee. He could miss the season opener against the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants on Thursday September 4th.

Taylor suffered the injury in the 2nd quarter of last night's preseason game with Carolina. He went down awkwardly when he got caught in the pile after a DeAngelo Williams run and had to be helped off the field. The six-time Pro Bowler did not return.

Taylor has a streak of 130 consecutive regular season starts. The Redskins take on Jacksonville in their final preseason game this Thursday.
