Former Cavalier guard Sean Singletary is headed to the Phoenix Suns, after the Houston Rockets traded him for guard D.J. Strawberry. The Suns mark Singletary's third NBA team since he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings on June 26.
The former Cavalier spent less than two weeks as a Houston Rocket, after he was traded to Houston on August 14 as part of the Ron Artest trade. Prior to the trade, Singletary was a member of the Kings’ 2008 Las Vegas Summer League squad, averaging 5.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 32.2 minutes, starting each of the club’s five games.
Singletary joins a Suns roster that already includes seven guards, with two being free agents. He will look to earn a spot on the 12 man roster. Phoenix opens up the preseason on October 8 against the Hawks.
