After falling to USC on this past weekend, the Cavalier football team looks ahead to this Saturday, as it will host Richmond at Scott Stadium. This marks the first match up between Virginia and the Spiders since 2001, when the Cavaliers topped Richmond, 17-16, in Al Groh's first home game as the Wahoos' head coach.
Virginia is looking to rebound from a 52-7 loss to the Trojans this past Saturday, in which they only gained 187 yards of total offense, while allowing 558 yards to USC. Richmond, meanwhile, is coming off a 28-10 win at Elon to open up the season.
The Spiders come in ranked third in the country in the Football Championship Series, formerly Division I AA. They are led by Mike London, Virginia's former defensive coordinator. He will look to bring his Richmond team into Scott Stadium and pull off the upset this Saturday.
