Cavalier linebacker John Bivens is likely done with football. The Daily Progress is reporting that Bivens took batting practice with Brian O'Connor's Cavalier baseball team on Monday and Tuesday, and will look to join the team.
Bivens was an all district and all region baseball player during his senior year at Prince George High School. He played in seven games for the Cavalier football team last year, before an knee injury sidelined him, and eventually required surgery. Sources confirm that Al Groh supports Bivens' decision to pursue baseball.
Bivens will make his program debut on Friday, as the Cavalier baseball team battles the Ontario Blue Jays in exhibition action. Bivens will assume the designated hitters role for that game. We will keep you updated on Bivens' progress.
