Virginia is looking to make improvements after its 31-3 loss at Duke on Saturday, as the Cavaliers head back to the drawing board to prepare for Maryland this weekend. If there is one area that Al Groh and his coaching staff will be looking at in particular, it's the turnovers.

Virginia committed six turnovers on Saturday, five in the second half, including four interceptions thrown by quarterback Marc Verica. The sophomore quarterback's third interception was returned for a touchdown by Duke's Jabari Marshall, making the score 24-3. Virginia quarterbacks have now thrown nine interceptions on the season, but no touchdown passes.

The Cavalier defense is one positive that Groh and his team saw on Saturday. Despite the score, Virginia only gave up 250 yards of offense. Linebacker Clint Sintim had three sacks on the afternoon, while Ras-I Dowling came away with two interceptions. Both players left in the third quarter with cramps with the game tied at three, and by the time Sintim returned, he found his team in a two touchdown hole.

The 31-3 loss sends Virginia to a 1-3 record for the second time in the last three seasons. Saturday's loss snaps an eight game winning streak against the Blue Devils, and marks the first time the Cavaliers have lost at Wallace Wade Stadium since 1994. It is also the first time Virginia has lost to Duke under head coach Al Groh, and snaps Duke's 25 game ACC losing streak.
