When Virginia takes the field against East Carolina on Saturday, it will be looking to continue several things that went right in last weekend's win over Maryland. One of them will be the running game, which exploded for its most positive performance of 2008.
The Cavaliers gained 201 rushing yards in Saturday's 31-0 win against the Terps. Cedric Peerman paced the ground game, gaining 110 yards on 17 carries, and scoring his second touchdown of the season. Mikell Simpson added 77 yards on 14 carries.
Virginia will look to find the seams and take advantage of an East Carolina defense that gives up more than 140 yards on the ground per game. Peerman and Simpson are both now healthy and expected to take the field at 100 percent.
