The Western Albemarle volleyball team completed the season sweep of Fluvanna tonight, topping the Flucos, 3-0. The Warriors improve to 9-0 in the Jefferson District, and have now swept both William Monroe and Fluvanna, the two teams that are closest to them in the district standings. Western is 13-3 overall, and has three games remaining on its regular season schedule.
Meanwhile, the Dragons remained two games behind the Warriors in the Jefferson District standings. William Monroe topped Orange on Thursday, 3-1, improving to 7-2 on the district, 12-5 overall. The Hornets, meanwhile, fall to 2-6 in district play, 6-9 overall.
Louisa held onto fourth place in the district standings, topping Charlottesville, 3-0. The Lions ran into some trouble with the Knights in game three, as they found themselves down by eight points, but were able to come from behind to complete the three game sweep. The Lions are now 4-5 in district play, 10-7 overall, while Charlottesville remains in search of its first win of the season.
