Virginia's Kika Toulouse couldn't have picked a better time to score her first career goal. Her header past BC keeper Jillian Mastroianni in the 72nd minute proved to be the game-winner against the Eagles.
Boston College got on the board first in this game. Julia Bouchelle scored her 5th goal of the season in the 7th minute of the game, giving BC a 1-0 lead. From there, the UVa defense shut down the Eagles, and the offense got going.
The Cavaliers got the equalizer in the 27th minute when Lauren Alwine fed Jess Rostedt, who tucked the ball into the far corner of the net. The game was tied at 1 at the half.
Late in the second half, Amanda Stewart crossed the ball into the box, and Toulouse was there for the header. That would be all Virginia would need to seal the win.
Virginia improves to 12-2-1 overall, 6-1-0 in the ACC. The Cavaliers take on North Carolina Friday night at Klockner Stadium.
