Despite a game-high 22 points from Sylven Landesberg, Virginia came up two points short against Auburn this afternoon, falling 58-56.
Auburn had a 32-21 lead at the half and led 50-42 with less than 10 minutes to go in the game. But the Cavaliers would put together an impressive run to tie the game, and eventually take a four point lead.
Down 56-55 with just over two minutes remaining, Auburn's Tay Waller hit a three pointer to give the Tigers the lead. The Cavaliers had a chance for the win with less than 15 seconds remaining, but Sammy Zeglinski's three-point attempt was blocked and Lucas Hargrove secured the rebound for Auburn.
With the loss, Virginia falls to 4-4 on the season. The Cavaliers will return to action Tuesday night with a home game against Hampton.
