Sylven Landesberg is this week's ACC Rookie of the Week, marking the fifth time this season he has earned the honor. The freshman put together an impressive week, as the Cavaliers went 1-1 last week.
Landesberg was a bright spot for the Cavaliers in Saturday's 78-75 loss at Virginia Tech. The rookie scored a team high 20 points while pulling down eight rebounds, which also led the team. It marked the eighth time this season that Landesberg scored at least 20 points. He has scored on double figures in eleven of Virginia's 13 games on the year.
The freshman becomes only the fourth Cavalier to win ACC Rookie of the Week at least five times, joining Bryant Stith, Ralph Sampson, and Sean Singletary. He is currently fourth in the ACC in scoring with 18.5 points per game.
Landesberg and the Cavaliers return to action on Thursday night, as they play host to sixth ranked North Carolina. Check out Marc Davis' Sports Blog to talk about the ACC right here on wcav.tv/sports.
