Four Cavalier football players will get to play one more game as a collegiate athlete. Eugene Monroe, Clint Sintim, Cedric Peerman, and John Phillips have each accepted invitations to play in the Senior Bowl. The game will kick off on January 24 at 7:00pm eastern time in Mobile, Alabama.
Monroe earned second team All-American honors from the Walter Camp Foundation, the Sporting News, and the Associated Press. He also won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the best blocking lineman in the ACC.
Sintim earned second team All-ACC honors and led the nation among linebackers with eleven sacks. The number was also good enough to rank ninth in the country overall. He totaled 70 tackles and 13 tackles for loss during his senior year.
Peerman rushed for 774 yards and seven touchdowns for the Cavaliers this season. He went over the 100-yard mark in three games this year.
Phillips was a first-team All-ACC selection after leading the league¹s tight ends with 48 catches for 385 yards and three total touchdowns. His 48 receptions are ninth most by a tight end in conference history.
