Saturday morning you can expect a sea of orange and blue around Scott Stadium and CavMan to be leading the charge. The CavMan video is an animation played before the game that introduces and welcomes the team into the stadium.
A league of enemy mascots is one of the new additions to the CavMan video.
"The idea was to try and get fans into the game, into the facility before the team actually came out onto the field to generate excitement to get people thinking about football, rather than just tailgating," said Erik Elvgren, Senior Producer and Animator.
Saturday's game is against the Wyoming Cowboys, so creators are going with a western theme.
"We tried to play on some of the conventions of western movies that you would see. The clenching of the hand, the squinting of the eyes, the other bad guy up on the railing, or these different things that we tried to put into the CavMan adventure to make it more interesting," said Elvgren.
CavMan has moved to the rotunda and as the games continue we will see more of his home. Creators also say they have a surprise for the middle of the season. All they would say is it's for the Maryland game and stay tuned.
