The Virginia men's lacrosse team knocked off top-ranked Syracuse Friday night 13-12, improving to 5-0 on the season.
The game was tied at four at the half, but Virginia would control much of the second half. The Cavaliers led 13-8 with 7:32 remaining and had to withstand a furious Syracuse rally in the game's final minutes. The Orange got within one goal, but UVa's defense came up with a stop late in the game to secure the win.
Shamel Bratton led the way for Virginia with a career-high four goals. Danny Glading and Garrett Billings also added three goals apiece for Virginia.
The Cavaliers will try to stay perfect on the season when they take on VMI Tuesday. Face-off is scheduled for 3:30 pm from Lexington, VA.
