It took some late game magic, but the Cavalier women's lacrosse team was able to pull out a 10-9 thrilling overtime win against William and Mary on Tuesday night at Klockner Stadium. Virginia bounces back, after losing for the second time this season at North Carolina this past Saturday.
Virginia and the Tribe battled back and forth, and the Cavs held a 6-5 lead midway through the second half, before William and Mary went on a run to pull ahead, 8-6. Trailing 9-8, Ashley McCulloch found the back of the net to tie the game at nine and force overtime. Whit Hagerman scored the game winning goal with 1:19 remaining in overtime to cap off the victory.
McCulloch finished the night with three goals, while Jenny Hauser chipped in two. Virginia improves to 6-2 on the season.
