The Virginia baseball team was unable to win its series with North Carolina, falling by a final of 6-5 in the series finale.
Virginia was down 5-3 in the top of the 9th when Dan Grovatt cracked a 2-run home run to tie the game. The Tarheels would respond though in their half of the ninth inning. Ryan Graepel came to the plate with the bases loaded and was hit by a pitch to force in the winning run.
Grovatt led the way for Virginia on offense, going 2-4 with 4 RBI on the day. John Hicks also had two hits and an RBI for the Cavaliers, who fall to 22-4 (6-4 ACC).
Up next for Virginia is a trip to Salem to take on Radford this Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 pm.
