The Cavaliers were extremely disappointed with their game two loss to Maryland on Saturday. They showed it in Sunday's match-up. After scoring two runs early in the first, the Cavaliers posted 12 runs in the first three innings to walk away with a convicing 17-2 win and another ACC series victory.

In the second inning, Tyler Cannon sparked the Cavalier attack with a single past a diving short stop into center field driving in Jarrett Parker to grow the lead to three. A few batters later, Cavs catcher Franco Valdez stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and smashed a grand slam over the wall in center field capping off a seven run second for Virginia.

Phil Gosselin added to the Virginia offense with a three run homerun in the next inning, and ended up as the player of the day, going 3-4 with 5 runs batted in.

Cavaliers starting pitcher Tyler Wilson also won his first ACC start in the win. The Cavs are back in ACC play next weekend as they travel to Georgia Tech for a three game set with the Yellow Jackets.
