A University of Virginia Cavalier turned Chicago Bear caused a big roar on grounds on Saturday.

Running Back Thomas Jones announced he has established a scholarship fund at his alma mater for students from Southwest Virginia.

The 'Thomas Quinn Jones Scholarship' gives $2,000 a year to every student in five counties surrounding Jones' hometown.

The money can be renewed every year up to four years.

"It makes me feel good to know that I am going to give some people an opportunity to come here, and experience the things that I have experience when I was here, and acknowledging that. This is definitely something that was an important part of my life coming from Southwest Virginia," said Jones.

The school honored his family after Jones' parents paid for three college tuition's by working in Virginia's coal mines.
