The 16 teams of the Jefferson Swim League are all preparing for next weekend's championship meet, but before they could look ahead to that, they had to finish out their regular season schedules. Every team hit the water on Wednesday night to close out the campaign, with two division titles still needing to be decided.
In Division Two, Farmington traveled to Hollymead to determine the regular season division championship. Farmington entered with a record of 3-1, while Hollymead entered at 4-0. In a closely contested battle, Hollymead was able to remain unbeaten and lock up a division title with a 553-500 victory.
However, no meet was as close as the battle for the Division Three title between the City of Charlottesville and Glenmore. Both teams entered unbeaten and the meet lived up to its expected hype. Charlottesville ended up sneaking by Glenmore, 695-690, to capture the division championship.
Elsewhere, Crozet knocked off ACAC, 578-455. Elks also was able to earn a win, topping Key West in another close battle, 547-535. Elks ended the regular season on a two meet winning streak.
The Jefferson Swim League Championships will be held July 24-25 at the UVa Aquatic and Fitness Center.
