The First Tee is an organization that was founded in 1997. It helps teach children the game of golf, as well as the importance of physical education. The group has also set up many physical education classes and training programs across the country, and also promotes diversity in the game of golf. Monday, local golfers hit the links to help the Charlottesville division of the organization.

The First Tee Invitational was held at Farmington Country Club in hopes of raising funds. Around 80 golfers signed up to take part in the invitational. This marked the third annual event, and it raises approximately 25 thousand dollars for the First Tee of Charlottesville.
