The Cavalier baseball team has been taking part in its fall workout program as the players prepare for the upcoming 2010 season. Brian O'Connor and his club have high expectations for the upcoming year, but right now are focusing more on fundamentals and themselves.
Virginia has about 95 percent of a team back that won a school record 49 games and made the program's first ever College World Series. This season, the Cavs will embark on a pretty tough schedule. Four of the club's weekend series will be against teams that made the NCAA Super Regional last year.
Next week, Virginia begins the Orange-Blue World Series, a series of seven intra-squad games. The first game will be Monday at 6:00pm. Friday, October 16, will find the Cavaliers receiving their College World Series rings prior to the contest.
