The University of Virginia football team got a big win on Saturday, beating Indiana 47-7. That high score is saving fans some big money Monday at local UVa. apparel store, Mincer's.
The flow of customers in and out of Mincer's on The Corner at UVa. has been steady throughout Monday morning, as fans are looking to cash in on the Cav's big win. Plenty of Orange and Blue faithful celebrated their savings Monday after a shopping spree for Cavalier gear.
"I saved $68, and I saved $75 dollars," said Caelinn and Natalie, two UVa. students.
"Forty-seven percent off is a pretty good deal. I bought a two ties, bow ties, sweatshirt, and saved about 100 bucks," added Rob Chuchlay.
Mincer's Scoreboard Special discounts all store merchandise based on the number of points UVa. scores each home game. Saturday's 47 points translates to a 47% discount on everything in the store. Plus, if you can't make it to the store Monday, you can cash-in on the discount online at Mincer's website using the promotional code 'cheercavs'.
There is one catch however, the deal is only good online or in-store until 5pm Monday.
CBS19 did try to talk to managers about the promotion, but as you can imagine, they were just too busy to stop and chat. Customers said the line wrapped around the store, and some fans waited in line as long as 30 minutes before making it to the register to check out.
Again, the promotion is only good online and in-store until 5pm Monday, and the 47% discount applies to your entire purchase. The next chance for a discount will be Monday, October 26, following Virginia's home game against Georgia Tech.
