Junior Wide Receiver Kevin Ogletree tore his ACL during spring practice this past Friday, sidelining him indefinitely. Coach Al Groh says that Ogletree injured himself trying to make a cut at practice, when the knee just gave out on him. The wide out will need surgery, which had not been scheduled, as of today.

According to Groh, recovery from ACL tears usually takes about 12 months, meaning Ogletree would miss the entire 2007 season.

Ogletree established himself as Jameel Sewell's favorite target in 2006, leading the Cavaliers in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions. He had a career day back on October 14th against Maryland with 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

The silver lining to the story is that Ogletree played as a true freshman in 2005, meaning he could red-shirt the upcoming season and still have two seasons of eligibility.
