J.R. Reynolds

J.R. Reynolds has been named a CLASS Award Senior Second Team All-American. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, and the All-American Team honors the top senior student athletes.

Reynolds averaged 18.4 points and 3.7 assists per game during the 2006-2007 season. He finishes his career ranked third on the all time Virginia three pointers list, as well as tenth in scoring. The senior guard scored a career high 40 points back on January 21st against Wake Forest.

The senior guard teamed with Sean Singletary during the past two seasons to make up what is regarded as one of the best backcourts in the country. Reynolds earned second team All-ACC honors as well.

The co-captain showed that he could shine bright on the big stage, as he scored 28 points in Virginia's first round NCAA win against Albany, and came back with 26 in the Cavaliers' season ending loss to Tennessee, despite an ankle injury he suffered in the first half against the Volunteers.

Virginia finished its season with a 21-11 record, and made its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2001.
