Wright Named Preseason AP All-American

November 4, 2009

Virginia senior guard Monica Wright has been named a preseason first-team All-American by the Associated Press.

This is the third preseason All-America honor for the Cavalier senior. She has already been named the ACC preseason player of the year, and is a candidate for the Wade and Naismith trophy, as well as the Wooden award. Last season, Wright led the ACC in scoring with 20.5 points per game.

Wright and the Cavaliers open up the 2009-2010 season at UMBC Friday November 13th.
