The University of Virginia is the host of this years ACC Field Hockey Tournament. How ironic would it be if UVa actually won the thing.

Now it's slowly becoming a realty.

On Friday night in the ACC tournament semi-finals, the Cavs took care of UNC 1-0 as freshman Charlotte van den Broek recorded her first career goal. Goalie Kim Kastuk also played a key role with nine saves in the contest.

Virginia now advances to face top ranked Maryland in Sunday's final. It will be the first finals reached for the team since 2000, as UVa has never won an ACC championship.

The battle will not be easy as Maryland is 19-0 and are the defending ACC and NCAA champion. Game time is set for noon on Sunday.
