After going 2-2 this past week, the Virginia Baseball Team fell from number three in the country to number five. The Cavaliers fell to VMI on Tuesday, and lost one game of a three game series with Duke over the weekend.

Virginia sits with an overall record of 29-7, 10-5 in the ACC. They will travel to Virginia Commonwealth tomorrow evening, before returning home to face Georgia Tech in a critical ACC weekend series.

In other UVa baseball news, sophomore pitcher Jacob Thompson is this week's ACC Pitcher of the Week. Thompson hurled a complete game shutout on Friday night against the Blue Devils, striking out ten and giving up only four hits. He is 8-0 on the season and leads the conference with a 1.49 ERA. Thompson is also 4-0 in ACC games. He will take the hill the Friday night when Virginia hosts Georgia Tech at Davenport Field. This is Thompson's first ACC honor.
