Monticello and Western Albemarle met in Jefferson District baseball, separated by just one game in the standings, and the Warriors were able to come out on top, 4-3. Adam Kruithof pitched a complete game, striking out eleven. He also added a three-run home run at the plate. The winning run for Western was scored with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to clinch the victory.

Across town, Charlottesville and Orange met in another district baseball showdown. The contest needed extra innings to decide, with the Hornets scoring three runs in the top of the ninth. However, the Black Knights fought back, tied it up, and eventually won on a wild pitch that allowed a run to score from third.

In boys lacrosse action, Western Albemarle and Woodberry Forest met in a low scoring affair, with the Tigers coming out on top, 6-4. Max Pfeifer and Matt Galvin scored two goals each for the Warriors in the losing cause.

Girls action saw the Warriors win easily over Monticello, 11-2. Western went into halftime up 8-1, and never looked back. Ally Swanson scored two goals for the Warriors in the win.
