Ninety-five teams and more than 2,200 prep athletes congregated on UVa's Lannigan Field Saturday for the Dogwood Classic. Central Virginia teams competing included Fork Union, Albemarle, Charlottesville, Monticello, Louisa, Western Albemarle, Fluvanna and Nelson.
Some highlights include:
--- Fork Union won the meet for the third year in a row, setting a Dogwood record.
--- Charlottesville's Rashawnda Jackson placed in four events
-- Second in Long Jump (Personal Best 18'6")
-- Third in Triple Jump (Personal Best 38'2")
-- Fourth in 200
-- Fifth in 100
--- Orange County's Brad Starks wins the Long Jump (24'2")
--- Louisa County's Todd Shelton finishes second in the Discus Throw (167-9), and broke his own school-record in the process.
--- Charlottesville's Alen Dooms placed in two events
-- Fourth in 100 (persona best 10.298)
-- Eighth in 200
