The NCAA Men's Basketball Rules Committee approved a measure today that would move the three point line back one foot for men's basketball. Currently, the three point arc sits 19 feet, nine inches away from the basket, but the rule change would move it to 20 feet, nine inches. The rule change is expected to be passed by the rules oversight committee on May 25th.
This would be the first major change to the three point arc since its inception in 1986, and would be adopted by all three college divisions. The women's three point line would not change.
