The Virginia High School League announced today that two high school football championship games will be held at the University of Virginia's Scott Stadium. This marks the first time that state championship football will be held on grounds since 1984.
According to the agreement, the Division 5 and 6 Group AAA title games will both be played at Scott Stadium in 2007, with an option to renew in 2008 and 2009. This gives more fans the opportunity to see the games, as the stadium seats more than 62,000, and the two divisions are the two largest in the state.
The Division 1 and 2 Group A will be held at City Stadium in Salem in 2007 and 2008, while the Division 3 and 4 Group AA will remain at Liberty University.
