CHARLOTTESVILLE - The Virginia-North Carolina State baseball game was postponed Friday night after deluge forced a delay in play. After a one-hour, 22-minute delay, play was officially suspended until 5 p.m. Saturday, when the game will pick up in the bottom of the eighth inning with the score tied at two. Virginia had a runner at third and no outs when play was stopped.
The originally-scheduled 6 p.m. game will start at its original time or 30 minutes after the completion of the first game - whichever comes later. The fireworks display after the second game will go on as scheduled.
