The Virginia women's basketball team bounced back from Sunday's loss to JMU in a big way, pounding Furman 74-43.
As she has done most of the season, Monica Wright led the way with 30 points for the Cavaliers. In fact, she single-handedly outscored Furman in the first half 20-15. Wright also had nine steals and eight rebounds to go along with her 30 points.
The Cavaliers also got a lift from Whitny Edwards, who scored a career-high 17 points on 7-12 shooting. Virginia had a decided advantage on the boards as well, out-rebounding the Paladins 47-28. Simone Egwu pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds for the Cavs.
With the win, Virginia improves to 7-2 on the season. The Cavaliers will now have an 11 day break for exams before facing Georgia on December 20th.
