If you ask anyone on the Virginia baseball team who the strongest Cavalier is, they'll say pound-for-pound it's definitely Greg Miclat. At 5'9", 155 lbs, it's hard to believe. But this past season he was the rock of the Cavaliers. He led the 'Hoos in batting and stolen bases. Yet troubles with his throwing shoulder forced Miclat into surgery in May, and the Cavaliers certainly missed his talents in the postseason.
This summer, Miclat is undergoing daily rehab, but he's also giving back to some future baseball stars. This week, Miclat is coaching at the Virginia Youth Developmental Camp, running through tomorrow at Davenport Field. Close to 130 kids, ages 6-though-12, get to learn from Miclat and other current and former Cavaliers.
