For the first time, Charlottesville is hosting the All-Star Little League State Championship.
The festivities began Thursday night with the opening ceremonies at McIntire Park.
The State Tournament will reportedly bring in around 500 thousand dollars for the City and Albemarle County.
Opening ceremonies today began with a group of skydivers landing on the diamond.
UVa baseball coach Brian O'Connor spoke to the group of baseball players. The tournament begins on Friday at 9 a.m.
The final two teams left after the tournament will face off on Tuesday.
