Skip Prosser, Wake Forest's Head Coach, and protege of former Virginia Head Coach Pete Gillen, died of an apparent heart attack Thursday afternoon.
According to Mac McDonald, Voice of the Cavaliers, Prosser was found in his office in Winston-Salem. He had gone out jogging earlier that day after returning from a recruiting trip. Prosser was 56 years old.
A native of Pittsburgh, he coached the Demon Deacons for six years and was named the 2003 ACC Coach of the Year after leading the team to a conference title. Prosser coached for seven seasons at Xavie after serving as an assistant under Gillen.
