Bonds Hits 756 Breaks Aaron's Record

August 7, 2007

Barry Bonds is the new homerun king of Major League Baseball hitting number 756 Tuesday night.

Bonds hit it right over the right center field wall to become baseball's new homerun record holder. Commissioner Bud Selig was not in attendance, instead sending an emissary, MLB Executive Vice President Jimmie Solomon.

Hank Aaron, the former homerun record holder, was true to his word and was also not in attendance but did sent a taped message of congratulations for Barry and his family.

Bonds' godfather Willie Mays was there. He as well as Bonds' family met Barry on the field to congratulate him.

Hank Aaron held the record for 33 years.
