Cavalier Men's and Women's Tennis Teams to Host NCAA Regionals
Brian Boland's Virginia men enter as the number one overall seed, while the women host NCAA action for the first time in program history.

The Cavalier men's and women's tennis teams will both play host to NCAA first and second round action next weekend. The Virginia men earn an automatic bid after winning the ACC Championship last week, while the women receive and at-large bid.
Brian Boland's squad will take the court as the number one overall seed in the event. This marks the third straight year Virginia will be the tournament's top seed, but the Cavs have yet to win a national championship. Virginia is 35-1 on the year and has set a school records for wins in a single season. During the course of the last four years, the Wahoos have a combined record of 129-7.
Virginia will open up play at Snyder Tennis Center on Saturday, May 15, against Navy in first round action. With a win, the Cavaliers will face the winner of Wake Forest and Columbia.
Meanwhile, the Virginia women make their third NCAA appearance in the last four years, but this time, the Cavaliers will host action. It marks the first time in program history that the Virginia women will host NCAA Tournament action. The Cavs will begin play on Friday, May 14, when they host Princeton at Snyder Tennis Center. With a win, they'll take on either Duke or Long Island.
