The Mid-Atlantic Power Festival got underway Tuesday night in Ruckersville. The event features the best in area motorsports while helping to promote breast cancer awareness.
The event is put together by friends and family of Amy Lynn Payne, who passed away from breast cancer nearly three years ago. There is a booth at the festival with information on breast cancer and other types of cancer, as well as the upcoming Relay for Life in Greene County. Organizers of the event say they hope everyone in attendance will be able to learn more about a disease that has had such a profound effect on their lives.
Tuesday featured motocross racing and there will be a demolition derby on Wednesday. The event runs June 15-20.
