The Cavaliers hold off Duke in UVa's home opener. It marks the 600th win in the school's history.
The Cavaliers got off to a quick start. On their opening drive, Tom Santi found the end zone on a seven yard pass from Jameel Sewell. It was the first touchdown pass Sewell has thrown in seven games.
Later in the first quarter, Cedric Peerman scored on a 58 yard run.
At the end of the first half, Duke takes advantage of UVa's high snap and scores on a safety. The Cavs lead 17 to 2 at the end of the first half.
In the third quarter, Duke scored on a 16 yard pass and the Blue Devils trailed by seven points. Duke tacked on a 21 yard field goal at the end of the third quarter.
Tom Santi scored his second touchdown of the day off a four yard TD pass from Peter Lalich. UVa had a total 324 yards on offense.
The Cavaliers will travel to North Carolina next Saturday.
