Quarterback Jason Campbell, who started the final 7 games of last season, went 12-for-21 for 222 yards and two interceptions.
Clinton Portis ran for 98 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown.
The Redksins visit the Philadelphia Eagles next Monday night.
