Cavs Hold Off Tar Heels

September 15, 2007:
UVa football team holds off North Carolina on Saturday, 22-20. The Cavaliers are now 2-0 in the ACC.

Jameel Sewell started the game at quarterback for the Cavaliers, throwing for 96 yards and completing 11 of 17 passes. Cedric Peerman scored the only touchdown of the day for the Cavaliers. Peerman rushed for a total 186 yards. Senior Chris Gould made five field goals for the Cavaliers, including a career long from 51 yards out.

The Cavalier defense allowed 398 yards. UNC quarterback T.J. Yates threw for 335 yards and one interception caught by UVa senior Chris Long.

The Cavaliers return to action on September 22 when they host Georgia Tech.
