Anderson Progressing in Sophomore Year at Radford

Former Fluvanna basketball star Ya Ya Anderson is having a strong season for the Radford Highlanders men's basketball team.

The sophomore guard is third on the team in scoring, averaging more than 10 points in 28 minutes per game in his second year. He is also shooting 46-percent from the floor, including 45-percent from three point range.

"I'm in a lot better shape," he said. "Coming in I was a little slow and stuff like that, but once you get your first year under you, you get a whole lot more experience and stuff like that.

"Being able to adjust to the flow of the game and learning and having a year under my belt, it was a great experience."

On Friday, Anderson scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in Radford's road win over High Point. The win improved the Highlanders to 12-5 overall and 2-0 in the Big South Conference.
