Bears Take Long in Round 1 of NFL Draft

Kyle Long didn't have to wait very long to hear his name called during the NFL Draft.

The Chicago Bears took Long -- an alum of St. Anne's-Belfield who played one season of college football at Oregon -- with the 20th overall pick in Thursday night's first round.

Long appeared in 11 games for the Ducks last year, including four starts, spending time at both guard and tackle on the offensive line. Prior to his season at Oregon, Long played two years at Saddleback Junior College in California.

Long joins his brother Chris, the former All-American at Virginia, in the NFL. Chris Long, a defensive end, was the second overall pick by the St. Louis Rams in 2008. The Bears visit St. Louis on November 24.
