Rashard Davis, Charlottesville's explosive dual threat quarterback last football season, is closing in on making a college decision.
Charlottesville coach Eric Sherry said by text Thursday that Davis is close to a decision. Davis is holding full scholarship offers from FCS programs James Madison, VMI, Liberty, and Coastal Carolina, according to Sherry.
Sherry said the schools are recruiting Davis as a wide receiver.
Davis was a first-team All-Jefferson District selection as a utility player in 2012. Davis threw for 1,074 yards and 13 touchdowns, and ran for 1,383 yards and 17 scores, and helped the Black Knights reach the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
Sherry also said senior wide receiver Darius Watson planned to visit UVa-Wise and Bluefield. Watson was a second-team all-district selection in 2012, after catching 26 passes for 288 yards and four touchdowns.
