Former Virginia ace Branden Kline has reportedly signed a contract with the Baltimore Orioles, who selected Kline 65th overall in this year's Major League Baseball Draft.
The Baltimore Sun and other media outlets are reporting the deal is official pending a physical.
Kline, a Maryland native, was 7-3 with a 3.56 ERA in 93 innings as a starter for the Cavaliers this season. He racked up 94 strikeouts and was named second-team All-ACC as a starter, one season after earning first-team All-ACC honors as the Wahoos' closer.
The Orioles say they intend to try Kline as a starter.
