Virginia's historic run through the ACC will continue with a trip to the Tournament Final on Sunday.
Anthony Gill hit two free throws with 8.5 seconds left to push the No. 6 Cavaliers past Pittsburgh 51-48 in Saturday's semifinal.
The Hoos, ACC regular season Champions at 16-2, will now have a chance to pull off the double with a win Sunday.
Gill was shooting 63 percent from the line for the Cavaliers but calmly made both free throws after James Robinson's hanging layup had brought the Panthers to within 49-48.
Pitt had a chance to tie with 4 seconds left, but Justin Anderson tipped Robinson's 3-pointer to Gill with 0.5 seconds left.
Joe Harris scored 12 points to lead the top seed Cavaliers, and Gill added 10 points and five rebounds off the bench. Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 10 points and Akil Mitchell had eight points and eight rebounds.
This was UVa's first semifinal appearance since 1995, and they're now a win from their second tournament title - the other coming in 1976.
