Cavs' Cockerton Named All-ACC

Senior attackman Mark Cockerton is the lone Virginia representative on this year's All-ACC men's lacrosse team.

The league announced the 18 players on this year's All-ACC team on Wednesday afternoon. It's the second consecutive year Cockerton has earned the league honor.

This year marks the first time since 1993 that UVa didn't place multiple players on the All-ACC team. The league expanded to six teams this season with the additions of Notre Dame and Syracuse.

Cockerton -- one of 11 All-ACC players on the watch list for this year's Tewaaraton Trophy -- finished the regular season with 41 goals and 53 total points in 14 games. His 2.93 goals-per-game average is second in the ACC, while his 3.79 points-per-game average is fifth in the league.

Maryland placed a league-high five players on the team, while Duke and North Carolina had four players apiece, and Notre Dame and Syracuse each had two players on the team.
