The First Tee of Charlottesville held a children's clinic Tuesday morning at Meadowcreek golf course.
Instructors, including past champions of the City Championship golf tournament, showed area youngsters the basics of golf and taught them life lessons as well.
The kids hit the driving range for some quick tips and learned how to putt on the greens as well.
"The best thing I like about golf is the time you get to learn new things and every year I come here it's been a great experience," Alexander Wilcox said.
The "First Tee" of Charlottesville is in its 11th year and uses the game of golf to promote character building and healthy choices among children.
"It's really fun and we learn respect and to have good judgment with others," Kayleigh Stebbins added.
