After reeling off six straight wins, Fork Union fell Friday night to defending state champs Liberty Christian. The difference was a 44-yard field goal that sailed wide for the Blue Devils (6-2) with time expiring, preserving a 36-33 victory for the Bulldogs (6-1).
Star quarterback and Penn State commit Christian Hackenberg had another big day, passing for 283 yards and a score. He added another 46 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Senior Malcolm Cook, a UVA commit, was second on the team with 9 tackles.
Head coach Micky Sullivan stopped by the Friday Night Endzone studio to talk about Hackenberg and Cook and why he decided to make this year his last at the helm of the Fork Union football team.
